New students get a taste of life at DMU in this year's Spring Welcome

Hundreds of students attended our Spring Welcome event on Monday 21 January. The day was organised to help give students who joined in January a taste of the amazing experiences available at DMU. It was also a great opportunity for both new and existing students to speak to representatives from all over the university about the many support services available.

The event was held in the Campus Centre Atrium, where students were able to pick up a free reusable mug from the Sustainability department on their way in as well as meet the team from De Montfort Students’ Union and sample a range of free snacks.

Representatives were there from the Kimberlin Library, the Confucius Institute, DMU Sport, the QEII Leisure Centre, DMU for Life, and the Student Gateway (covering international student support, finance, disability and mental health advice).

Students were able to learn about the employability resources from #DMUworks, finding temporary jobs through Unitemps and getting guidance with starting a business from the Enterprise Team. Students were also told about overseas trips connected to their studies through #DMUglobal and how to volunteer in the community with #DMUlocal.

If you were there, we hope you found it useful, and see if you can spot yourself in our picture gallery below!
