DMU staff and students are warmly invited to the official opening of the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre at 4pm, Thursday 9 May, Hawthorn Square.
Be a part of this special occasion as our Chancellor, Stephen Lawrence's mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, officially opens the centre to the public. The centre will remain open until 9pm for guests to view the Stephen Lawrence Exhibition.
There will be a featured event at 6pm in the Vijay Patel Building that will include a panel discussion on the unfinished agenda of the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry twenty years on with the Rt Hon Jack Straw, celebrated poet, musician, actor and activist Benjamin Zephaniah and writer, broadcaster and former barrister, Afua Hirsch.
