Celebrate National Libraries Week from 8-12 October


Celebrate National Libraries Week with DMU Library and Learning Services. This year the focus is on wellbeing, with libraries across the country showcasing how they bring communities together, provide a space for reading and creativity and support positive mental health. LLS has put together a series of events for you to relax and enjoy. ​

Events include:

​Monday 8 October (2-3pm, Kimberlin Library 0.07B) - If you could create the perfect library, what would it look like? Join new Royal Literary Fund Fellow and children's author Susie Day in this relaxed, interactive workshop. Give your imagination space to consider what a library means to you. 

Tuesday 9 October (10-11am, meet in Kimberlin Library foyer) - The natural world is all around us, but frequently escapes our notice. This hour-long Birds and Wellbeing Walk takes in some of the places on or near campus where you can pause from the pressures of the day and reconnect with your environment.

Wednesday 10 October (12-1pm, Learning Zone on ground floor of Kimberlin Library) - Meet canine superstar Tilly. She is a 12 year old Welsh terrier who loves meeting humans!

Thursday 11 October (11am-12pm, Kimberlin Library 00.11) - Find out how to get a clear mind at this workshop which explores the practice of mindfulness and meditation. 

Friday 12 October (2.30-3.30pm, ) - Lego Serious Play supports wellbeing by fostering self-reflection, self-awareness and ​communication.  ​
