Important information about access to the Bede Island building

From Monday 26 November, there will be changes to the access arrangements for Bede Island to improve security in this area. Staff and students will need to use their ID swipe-card to enter the building – including through the main front doors.

Once inside the building, all staff and students should have access to the ground floor lecture theatre, but only those connected to the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media – and Animation and Game Art areas – will have access to the specialist areas.

If you have any problems gaining access, you may need to update your card by holding it against the external card reader until the light stops flashing (this takes up to three seconds approximately).

If the issue continues, please contact Security, who can update your card if required.
