The Faculty of Business and Law held a legal networking and volunteering event for all BAL students on Wednesday 14 November.
The event enabled law students to network with a range of voluntary and public sector organisations, firms and employers with a legal advice and mentoring focus.
Students could gain knowledge and awareness of different organisations and sign up to volunteering opportunities to help enhance their CV whilst studying.
There were many different organisations attending including Bray and Bray, who DMU alumna Kelly Ferguson now works for as an associate solicitor.
She said: “These events are important as we can help students to realise that there isn’t only one route into Law.
“We can help students to see the bigger picture, and hear from people working within the industry.”
DMU alumni Courtney Bent was also at the event and now works for Nelsons law firm, he said: “I attended one of these events during my time at DMU and it helped me pick up tips from other trainees and they gave me an insider’s view of how to get into the industry.”
The event was a huge success with more than 15 different law firms in attendance.
