Graduate Outcomes Survey
The Graduate Outcomes Survey is the UK’s biggest annual social survey, sent to all graduates 15 months after they finish their studies. It captures the perspectives and current status of recent graduates. This replaces the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey.
Why is it important you complete it?
This new survey allows a longer period between your studies and the survey. This allows you to reflect on the value your studies have played in your current activities, how this compares to your original plans and how you’re using skills you’ve picked up while in education.
We want to understand your perspective and what success looks like for you following your time in higher education. Your valuable response adds to the collective voice of graduates and the results will give current and future students an insight into career destinations and development. Your responses will also help De Montfort University (DMU) to evaluate and promote their courses.
When will you be contacted?
All graduates who completed a higher education course in the UK after August 2017 will be asked to take part in the survey 15 months after they finish their studies. The table below shows when you will be contacted:
When you will be contacted
|August - October 2017
|November - January 2018
|February - April 2018
|May - July 2018
How does it work?
The survey is delivered by HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) on behalf of DMU. You’ll have the option to complete the survey on a variety of devices which will take no longer than 15 minutes.
You’ll be contacted by either:
- Email: The survey will be emailed to you - the email will come from Graduate Outcomes: firstname.lastname@example.org. These emails will contain a link to the online survey
- Text messages: You will receive text reminders from ‘GradOutcomes’. These texts will contain a link to the online survey.
- Phone: If you receive a phone call regarding the survey, it will be from IFF Research. It has been appointed to capture survey responses by phone. They will introduce themselves as calling on behalf of DMU.
