Description

As part of the ongoing Dismantling barriers - building pathways themed events from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Professor Joan Taylor and Professor Katie Laird from the Leicester School of Pharmacy will be ‘In Conversation’. They will be sharing about the inspirational paths they have taken through their career journeys to date.  Prof. Taylor has led the development of a totally implantable artificial pancreas for the treatment of insulin dependent diabetes and started a clinical gymnasium at the University to monitor and advise diabetic people on their exercise and maintaining a good blood glucose. Dr Laird’s work is centred on the prevention of transmission of Healthcare Acquired Infections, particularly in the healthcare laundry sector. Prof Laird is also a founder of A Germ’s Journey educational resources.
