International Women’s Day Events – DMU Women #ChooseToChallenge

We speak to four ambitious career driven women who have very different career paths and life experiences. They will be speaking to us about their challenges, the decisions they have had to make and how they motivated themselves to keep going to get to where they are. The panel consists of the following:

Kiran Aulakh - Senior Talent Team Lead – Sparta Global

Kiran initially planned to become chartered Psychologist and get into a graduate scheme but due to the competition and other factors she decided to put her motivation to help people she jumped into the world of talent and recruitment. Kiran has progressed her career in this area working with both public and private sector businesses and is now a senior talent lead in Sparta Global who are a company in the booming Technology sector.  She supports young people and early careers professionals to help them find and fulfil their potential.

Clare Beynon - Talent Acquisition Manager for Enterprise Rent A Car

Clare graduated from DMU with a HR degree. Unsure of her career aspirations, Clare applied to a general management training program.  Using her network and focus on self-development, Clare then went on to be promoted each year for the first 5 years of her career, took on multi- faceted roles and was able to take the lead on projects she never imagined.  Today, Clare heads the Talent Attraction Team for Enterprise Rent A Car and leads on Diversity & Inclusion.

Zainab Zaeem-Sattar - newly qualified Solicitor

Zainab undertook her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course from 2010 to 2012 and qualified as a solicitor in 2019.
Zainab has had to overcome many challenges to get to where she is today: she has four mouths to feed and didn’t let anything get her down despite challenges and rejections. An opportunity arose whereby Zainab was able to take that first step and search for her first paralegal role that then allowed her to search for a training contract to get to where she is today and the rest is currently being lived!

Jemma Redden – Director of Access Generation

Jemma Redden is a former DMU journalism student now a director of Access Generation CIC. Jemma has years of marketing experience and is passionate about giving young people a voice and championing those with hidden conditions.
