Description

In the fifth webinar of our #BBBYouthWelfare series, we will be discussing county lines – how criminal gangs target and exploit young people, what the national picture is, the actions being taken locally to tackle and prevent and how we can #BuildBackBetter as we transition out of lockdown.

The session will be chaired by Kieran Breen, CEO of Leicestershire Cares, and guest speakers will be:

• Dr Grace Robinson, Rights Lab Research Fellow in Modern Slavery Perpetrators and Organised Crime, University of Nottingham

Donna Smalley, Service manager, CSE and Missing Multi-Agency Team, Leicestershire County Council

• Robert Buckley, Detective Sergeant, Exploitation Team - CCE Lead, Leicestershire Police

Our ongoing series of #BuildBackBetter webinars focused on Youth Welfare will be running over the coming months, our emphasis is on encouraging discussion amongst participants. The BBB Youth Welfare webinar series is a partnership between De Montfort University through the Social Care Learning and Development Hub, Leicestershire Cares and the LLR Safeguarding Children Partnerships. If you care about how government, community and business can best work together so nobody is left behind then this is a must attend event, as are the next webinars in this series.

The event is open to all.

Registrants will receive a link to join the online talk 24hrs before the event, via their provided email address.

Please contact the DMU Events Office on eventsoffice@dmu.ac.uk if you have any questions.
