Join us as we celebrate National Writing Day. Among the core pleasures of reading is the experience of being imaginatively transported elsewhere; and rarely has that been so literally needed as in COVID-19 lockdown. Professor Simon Perril, Programme Leader MA Creative Writing, will introduce the topic of practice research and will lead a series of short talks and readings by novelists, poets, playwrights and PhD students from the Leicester Centre for Creative Writing at DMU. A panel discussion will follow with question and answers. Details of the full programme for the day are below:

Creative Writing and Practice Research
Professor Simon Perril will introduce the topic of practice research, and then contribute to a series of contextualised readings, to be followed by a round table discussion. In the first half of the event Leicester Centre for Creative Writing authors will present their work. In the second half writers within the Centre will talk about their PhD project to give a flavour of the diversity of Practice Research at DMU.
