Personal profile

Dr. Fuad Khoshnaw has joined De Montfort University since 2018 as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development. His speciality focuses on structural integrity and failure analysis, considering stress analysis, materials selection and the operation conditions of mechanical components. He has published more than 40  papers in different international journals and conferences in the fields of corrosion, welding, biomaterials and fracture mechanics.

From 2010 to  2016, he worked as a Professor of Materials and Manufacturing as well as the Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Koya University, Kurdistan, Iraq. Before that, from 1996 to 2004, he worked as Lecturer/Associate Professor at Salahaddin University, Hawler, Iraq. 

He received PhD in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University, UK, in 2010. He has become a Chevening scholar through joing Chevening Technology Enterprise CTES programme, finished the Innovation and Technology course at London Business School in 2005. Previously, he studied Production and Metallurgical Engineering BSc in 1986 at the Technical University, Baghdad, Iraq, from where he received MSc in 1991 and PhD in 1995.
