Seyed Navid started his role as a full-time Senior Lecturer in Business and Management at Castle Business School De Montfort University Leicester on 01/March/2019.

Navid is a Senior Lecturer in Business Management Sciences specialising in Strategy, International Business, and Entrepreneurship, with over 20 years of academic and professional experience across Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. He holds SFHEA and FCMI recognitions, alongside a PgCert in Academic Practice in Higher Education.

He has extensive experience in leading and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and currently oversees one of the largest postgraduate subject areas at De Montfort University. Navid has received multiple awards and recognitions for academic leadership, collaboration, and student support, including Academic Citizen of the Year and Vice-Chancellor recognition awards. He also actively contributes to curriculum development, dissertation supervision, external examining, and academic advisory roles.

His research interests and publications focus on active learning, student engagement, knowledge management, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Above and Beyond Responsibilities

1 -Developed a school-level VLE (LZ) resource ( 2022-2025)https://demontfortuniversity-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/snasir01_dmu_ac_uk/Ee0bfCsuSFRBq-6w-VfI9ygBmS6BRDKTFtWGRc2GTiTHuw?e=JzilfL) to support colleagues within the Faculty of Business and Law (BAL). Since its launch, the resource has received over 5,100 views, demonstrating its significant impact and widespread use at DMU. 

2- DMU BizSpark (24-25): In response to students interest in gaining UK-based business experience, we have organised DMU BizSpark (Business Challenge Competition) for 24-25 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in a dynamic competition that bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, enhancing both your practical and academic skills. Participating in BizSpark will also add valuable experience to your CV, demonstrating your engagement and involvement with the UK’s business environment. In this competition, we had the voluntary participation of 7 UK companies—including family businesses, SMEs, and multinational corporations—alongside over 150 students and 20 academic staff members.  

This programme (BizSpark) was co-led and organised by Dr Masoud Keimasi and me, with support from Ms Leena Dattani-Demirci, Head of Student Success and Professional Development at BAL and the Head of LMM School Ms Julia Cook. 

3- Training sessions for DMU international partners : Since 2023, I have delivered voluntary VLE / LZ training sessions for our international partners in Dubai, Denmark, Kazakhstan, and China, which have contributed to the development of partner performance and supported DMU’s goals and mission.
