Thanks for your interest in Machinima Europe 2007 Festival. Unfortunately this year is over but details for the 2008 Festival will be posted on this site so keep checking! The following details is relating to the award category information for 2007.

Best Machinima picture
The winner in this category will selected by the judges as being the best overall production submitted to the Machinima Europe Festival 2007.
 
Best Machinima direction
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best coordination of artistic and technical team/resources and overall vision.
 
Best Machinima visual design
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best use of modification/design of in-game characters and sets, including overall visual treatment, eg., effects, tints, editing, costumes, lighting, textures, avatar building, camera work, scenario design.
 
Best Machinima technical achievement
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best use/modification of a game environment and engine in order to create Machinima content.

Best experimental Machinima
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges based on its adventurous technical and artistic approach. This category suits those works that attempt to push the boundaries of Machinima both as a technique and as a genre: for instance exploring cross-overs with different media and art forms, music, digital online performance, game modding, etc.

Best student Machinima
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best presentation of work produced by students.  Proof of student status is required for submission to this category.  Students may be enrolled on programmes of study in further or higher education in Europe or may be aged under 18 years.
 
Best commercial/game Machinima
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best promotional piece produced using Machinima techniques and used to market a product or service.
 
Best Machinima series
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best animated series created using Machinima techniques.  Submissions in this category will include 3 examples of the series.
 
Best Machinima sound
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best use of voice, sound editing, music or sound track in support of Machinima produced material.
 
Best Machinima story
The winner in this category will be selected by the judges as being the best writing or narrative production.
