An Applicant Taster Day is an unmissable opportunity to get hands-on with your chosen course. Tailored for DMU applicants and the course you've applied for, we'll be holding demonstrations, exercises and activities that give you a flavour of what you'll experience when studying here at DMU. Some sessions are subject to availability and have limited spaces, so we recommend booking early.

Biomedical Science
Diabetes case study
When diagnosing diabetes, there are certain signs and biomarkers that can assist in distinguishing between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. This lab-based, practical case study will give you the opportunity to explore the physiology underpinning the signs and symptoms associated with these two types of diabetes, by evaluating patient case history and testing urine samples in order to make a diagnosis.

In this activity, you'll look at measuring heart rates under different conditions using pulse oximeters.

This practical session gives an introduction to finger mark impression evidence and the enhancement of finger marks on different surfaces.
