Engineering Applicant Taster Day activities - 14 March
An Applicant Taster Day is an unmissable opportunity to get hands-on with your chosen course. Tailored for DMU applicants and the course you've applied for, we'll be holding demonstrations, exercises and activities that give you a flavour of what you'll experience when studying here at DMU. Some sessions are subject to availability and have limited spaces, so we recommend booking early.
Below is a list of the activities running on the day for Engineering courses. Take a look at what's going on for the course you've applied for, then book your place on the form underneath.
-
Aeronautical Engineering
In this session you will be given a live demonstration of the available experimental tools for aircraft design and testing, and get to explore our wind tunnel facilities. You will also learn the necessary steps for building a scaled version of an airplane model.
-
Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering
In this session you will get the opportunity to see a demonstration of an embedded system that highlights the use of microcontrollers in realising innovative engineering designs. If you are curious to know how modern electronic systems work and would like to test our embedded system development board, come along and join us.
-
Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering
The session will be focused around using computers to aid in the design and manufacturing process. You will be looking at how you can generate 3D geometry and use this geometry to rapidly manufacture components.
