Podium presentation at the IWIS conference workshop

Geoff Smith gave one of the plenary talks at the 10th International Workshop on Impedance Spectroscopy (IWIS) held in Chemnitz, Saxony on September 28-29th 2017

In his talk, entitled Through Vial Impedance Spectroscopy (TVIS). A New Method for the Development of Manufacturing Processes for Injectable Drug Products he introduced the world of the biopharmaceutical industry and the challenges in freeze-drying new life saving medicines, based on biological molecules (such as proteins), before explaining how the new TVIS instrumentation technology could assist in the development of the final product and manufacturing process.

The IWIS conference provides an excellent forum for specialists to present their research results in different fields of applications of Impedance Spectroscopy and to share experiences with other attendees coming from all over the world. In parallel with the talks, the exhibition show-cased a variety of interesting products from a range of manufacturers. This included the new impedance analyser that has been specifically designed by Sciospec GmbH for Through Vial Impedance Spectroscopy which replicates the measurement capability of De Montfort University’s original LyoDEA instrument (Innovate UK project).IWIS Chemnitz 2017
