First conference presentation on Through Vial Impedance Spectroscopy
Geoff Smith gave a podium presentation entitled “Lyosense™” at the PDA Europe conference “Freeze-Drying. Modern Trends in Production” on November 24th in Vienna, Austria.

LyoSense and LyoDEA were the terms used, early on, in the development of the TVIS technology to signify an impedance spectroscopy approach which uses electrodes attached to the external surface of a standard glass tubing vial for monitoring the freeze-drying of pharmaceutical products. LyoDEA was the term adopted in the first Technology Strategy grant application which provided the impetus to develop this new methodology.
