Open Days: Information for parents

An Open Day allows you and your child to see the campus, speak to current students and lecturers, explore facilities and see the accommodation that's available. It's the best opportunity to get a real taste of what a university has to offer, and it is highly recommended to attend at least one university Open Day at a location your child is considering.

As a parent, the questions you ask at an Open Day might be different from what your child asks. You may want to know:

  • Where accommodation is situated and what the area is like
  • What the career prospects are for your child's course
  • Whether additional course materials need to be purchased
  • What the transport links are like
