Aftab Sayed

Aftab was elected to their role as DSU Student Voice Leader for Communities for the 2026/27 academic year, and nominated by the union to serve as one of the board's student governors.

Aftab is a third-year student studying BA (Hons) Advertising and Marketing Communications. Aftab has been elected to the role of DSU Student Voice Leader for Communities and their remit oversees key areas such as student engagement in extracurricular activities, volunteering and fundraising.

Aftab has led DMU’s Cricket Club as Chair, and the Men’s 1^st Team as Captain, playing in two of the annual Varsity competitions against the University of Leicester. Aftab is a keen volunteer, acting as an ‘Activator’ – a student volunteer who runs free, recreational sport and activities – for cricket, badminton and volleyball, and has won awards for theirs volunteering and contributions to DMU Sport.
