Welcome activities
When you arrive at DMU for the very first time there will be a lot to take in, so we’ve organised a weekend of events to give you a taste of the amazing DMU experience.
Saturday 23 – Sunday 24 September
11am – 4pm | 11am – 12pm: Quiet Hour
From 11am, the campus will come alive with a festival atmosphere and our staff will be on-hand to answer your burning questions on everything DMU, from your support services to our exciting employability opportunities.
Get involved with our circus entertainment or have your caricature drawn before heading to our information stands where you can find out all you need to know about starting your DMU journey.
You can meet your DSU team who are here to help you have the best possible experience at university or find out where your campus buildings will be with our friendly Student Ambassadors.
Your health and wellbeing while at university is especially important to us. Throughout the year, we’ll be promoting events to help you make easy health and wellbeing choices so look out for the Healthy DMU giveaways.
Don’t miss it!
Monday 25 – Friday 29 September, 11am – 3pm
A Welcome stand will be in the entrance foyer of Kimberlin Library (building 25 on this map) to help signpost you to your faculty induction talks, events and campus buildings. Why not speak to our student ambassador team who will share their knowledge on getting the most out of university life?
DSU has also organised a series of welcome events running throughout September and October.
Take part in a pool tournament, rooftop yoga, karaoke nights and more.
Whether you’re looking to make friends, try something new or simply just have a brilliant time, the SU is the place to be.
Check the DSU events page for events and activities throughout the year.
If you’re looking to get involved in sport, would like a little competition, to join a club environment, or are interested in
or just want to keep active during your time at university, DMUsport has a range of opportunities available.
Taster sessions will be running from Saturday 30 September so you can try out activities such as Futsal, Netball and Rugby. Take a look at the what’s on page for more information.
