Welcome to DMU! We can’t wait to welcome our new students to campus and give you the university experience you deserve.

From Friday 24 September to Saturday 9 October, there will be a range of activities for you to get involved in. They will provide you with more information about what is on offer alongside your degree including sport, volunteering and much more.

We’ve put together a list of some of the highlights you can get involved with during Welcome Week:

Thursday 30 September

Voice Day
10am – 4pm
Campus Centre

Join DSU for their student council taster sessions, meet course reps and your officer team, the launch of the "change wall" and the chance to WIN prizes. This is your space to have your voice heard.

Exec Games Night
19:00 - 21:00
Campus Centre

Head to the Campus Centre for a chill night of games. Alone or with friends, go and meet new people and play!

Friday 1 October

Welcome Event
11am
The Venue@DMU

From 11am The Venue@DMU will come alive with a festival atmosphere. You can find out all you need to know about starting your DMU journey and so much more.

Highlights include:

  • Free ‘Future’ burgers from Vegetarian Express - 11am – 2.30pm
  • Have your picture taken with our selfie wall from Graffwerk, tag yourself #healthydmu to be in with a chance of winning a £100 love 2 shop voucher.
  • Take part in Taiko drumming
  • Entertainment from our DSU clubs and societies. 
  • It is the official launch of Black History Month at DMU so come and see us at 12.30 as we celebrate the history, arts and culture of people across the African, Caribbean and South Asian diasporas in the UK!
  • Pick up a free Healthy DMU reusable water bottle and bag. But hurry before they are gone!

Sunday 3 October

Trip to Alton Towers*
8am – 8pm
Campus Centre

Tag along for a day of thrills at Alton Towers Theme Park with attractions such as Congo River Rapids, The Smiler, Nemesis, Oblivion, The Wicker Man and more.

*Not Included with Freshers' Wristbands.
