UPDATED: Extra dates added to online school for entrepreneurial students and graduates

Extra dates have been added to an online start-up school launched by De Montfort University Leicester (DMU)'s DMU Works team after more than 150 people signed up to its first programme.

Students and recent graduates from all over the world have registered for the first summer school which will take place in June, with the new sessions due to take place in September.

Simon Baines and Vikesh Mistry of DMU's Student & Graduate Enterprise team will be running the online Summer School: Lockdown Launchpad LIVE and new September sessions.

Simon said: “Like everyone else, we really had no idea what engagement would be like from our students and alumni in the current climate, but felt we wanted to create something to fill the void in what we can currently offer to ensure we’re still providing support.  We have been so pleased and excited to have received so many signups!

"It looks like over 150 students and graduates will participate in our online Start-Up school sessions this June, which just goes to show how entrepreneurial DMU alumni and students are."

The online schools include a series of live events, backed up with 1-2-1 sessions from the DMU student and graduate enterprise team.

Topics including how to launch, marketing, ways to fund your business, e-commerce, as well as legal tips and more. There will be different sessions for people with ideas for product-based businesses selling physical products, and service businesses which include consulting and graphic design
