Applications now open for #DMUglobal Berlin in June

The waiting is over! Applications are now for De Montfort University Leicester (DMU)’s biggest-ever international visit – to Berlin in June.

Berlin 3

Up to 1,500 students are being given the chance to be part of our latest large-scale #DMUglobal trip which will offer a mix of academic activities, volunteering and cultural experiences in the German capital.

Bursaries of £200 will be available to all successful applicants leaving just £180 to pay. This will help cover accommodation and travel costs which will be booked by #DMUglobal.

Students will be staying for four nights in the heart of Berlin following bespoke itineraries arranged and led by DMU staff. Trips will run from Sunday, 11 June to Thursday, 15 June; Monday 12 June to Friday 16 June; and Tuesday 13 June to Saturday, 17 June.

In addition to the academic activities, students will have the chance to explore the diverse city of Berlin, visiting iconic landmarks and taking in the main cultural and historical sights.

There are more than 35 academic trips taking place on topics including creative writing, politics, history, music technology and healthcare.

DMU’s award-winning Square Mile will also be working with refugee programmes in Berlin, to bring home ideas for schemes in Leicester.

The visit to Berlin is the latest in DMU’s flagship #loveinternational campaign to promote openness and tolerance in the wake of the EU Referendum.

DMU encourages all students to embrace a global outlook and become true citizens of the world, whether that is by experiencing different cultures or considering careers overseas.
