It’s enough to make Willy Wonka go green with envy! De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is hiding golden tickets around its campus for students to find and claim top prizes including a Kindle, leisure centre passes and a tour of Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.
WINNER: Student Brennan Cross with DMU competition organiser Lauren Clarke
The Golden Ticket competition was launched yesterday with clues of the tickets’ whereabouts being sent out by Tweet on the @dmuleicester account.
The first two prizes were successfully claimed but students can still take part tomorrow (THURS) and on Tuesday and Thursday next week. So students are being urged to sign in to @dmuleicester, follow the clues and be in with a chance of claiming a prize.
The competition is part of the #loveDMU campaign, launched this week to ensure life at DMU kicks off with a bang in 2016 and gives students more reasons to be proud of their university.
The first prize winner was Brennan Cross, a second year BA International Marketing and Business student. The second ticket was found by Joshua Townson, a second year BA Film Studies student. They can claim a free lunch worth up to £5, every weekday for a month in the DMU food hall, making their prize worth £100 in total.
Brennan said: “I use the food hall so it’s a great prize. It’s a good competition and the money I save can go on text books. I love it at DMU and one of the main reasons is I am studying exactly what I wanted to, so I really enjoy it.”
Joshua added: “I’m always hungry so it’s great to win! I enjoy my course and the lecturers are really supportive so it’s all good.”
Students can win a £50 Amazon gift voucher every week day until 22 January by tweeting @dmuleicester or posting on DMU's Instagram account to say why they #loveDMU (make sure you use the hashtag!)
DMU is also encouraging graduands taking part in the Winter graduation ceremonies 2016 to enter a competition in which they can win a huge prize.
The “Ultimate Graduation” prize includes a £200 Highcross gift card to choose the perfect outfit, a graduation hair makeover at Danique Hair & Beauty, a family meal at the award-winning Maiyango restaurant and free robe hire and photography from William Northam.
