A De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) graduate has achieved his dream by joining one of Britain's most iconic car manufacturers, Jaguar Land Rover UK.
Abdullah Zaman graduated from DMU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Mechatronics in 2014.
Mechatronics is a technology which combines electronics and mechanical engineering and Abdullah says it is "the way forward" in the engineering industry.
Abdullah said of his recent employment: "I feel very proud to represent one of the few premium British vehicle manufacturing companies and I hope to inspire others to follow their own career paths.
"My master's course provided the perfect integration of engineering skills to start working in the industry and I found that there was a perfect blend of theory and practical knowledge.
"I would recommend both the Engineering and Mechatronics courses to all students who are interested in engineering, as this course provides you with the perfect package required to start your career."

Work experience while at university, including placements at the Mechatronics Research Group and DMU's radio station Demon FM, also played a vital role in Abdullah securing a job straight after graduation. Taking part in a variety of practical projects at DMU has also proved to be vital for him, helping him gain further knowledge on how mechatronics work and prepare him for industry.
Abdullah started off at Borg Automotive, one of Europe's largest independent manufacturing companies, which specialises in sales, production and distribution of previously used and remanufactured car products.
While studying at DMU, Abdullah acquired an in-depth knowledge of the skills required to begin a career in the engineering industry, including mechanics and system design.
He said: "To be successful in my role, it is important to be aware of systemic engineering as a bird's eye view on mechatronics, which is a combination of electronics, control, software and mechanical and manufacturing engineering."
He also describes the importance of mechatronic technology in today's engineering industry, saying: "Mechatronics is the way forward at the moment in the engineering industry, so studying my masters in the subject was the best decision I have ever taken in my life."
He urges students to get involved with these projects, saying "They should get involved with as many practical projects as possible as they help to provide you with the experience required to start your career."
Abdullah's practical work has also led to him winning several prestigious awards, including Best Project and Best Manufacturing Project, which he won while working at Borg Automotive.
