Fine Art students at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) are putting on a free exhibition in the city centre next week.
The exhibition, called The Human Condition, is inspired by experiences with anxiety and mental health issues.
Khadija Adam, Heather Boneham, Annie Dixon, Emily Hayland and Linda Prendergast have put the whole event together themselves, from finding the space at Highcross Leicester, to advertising the event and even installation.
On display will be a variety of media ranging from Painting, drawing and photography to sculpture and installation work.
The exhibition will be on display in WotSPACE, 3 Shires Lane, Leicester just opposite Bill's restaurant, in Highcross. WotSPACE is a community resource which, in Partnership with Hammersons, puts on pop-up events throughout the year.
The Human Condition will be open from Tuesday, 26 April to 1 May from 11am to 5pm daily.
One member of the group, Heather Boneham, said: “We are excited to have this valuable opportunity to exhibit our work as a group and through our art we hope to raise awareness and encourage a greater understanding of mental health and related issues - something we all feel strongly about.”
Tina Barton, of WotSPACE, said she was excited to have the exhibition come to Highcross and was looking forward to seeing the students’ work.
