The Ahmedabad Office opening builds on strong ties between the region and DMU which is located in Leicester, a city to which many Gujaratis travelled in the 1970s and 80s.

This heritage, combined with the university’s diverse student community, help make Leicester the vibrant multicultural centre it is today.

DMU has been ranked as one of the finest universities in the world for international impact by the influential Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-16, and has seen 95.3% of its international graduates in employment or further study within six months of graduating. *

DMU’s first Indian office opened in Delhi in 2014 and the Ahmedabad office will also support DMU’s pioneering international experience programme #DMUglobal, which has already established innovative projects in India alongside the university’s initiative to transform lives, Square Mile.

Underlining the university’s commitment to providing the best student experience, DMU has experienced a 10% rise in the number of Indian students recruited at a time when many other institutions have seen a decline.

James Gardner, DMU’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Strategic and International Partnerships said: “The new office is a vital cog at the heart of our new international strategy, which will strengthen our position in the second largest international recruitment market in the world.

“Evolving our networks in the state of Gujarat will help us to develop further our impressive performance in India.”

DMU will sign two important new partnership agreements in Gujarat this week: with the Gandhinagar Institute of Technology, affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, and the Unitedworld Institute of Design.
