This year’s Cyber Development Camp is a three-day boot camp for civilians and military personnel who want to join the growing cyber security industry.

Delegates will be put through their paces on a series of scenarios including tracking the flaws in web applications, how attackers can access sensitive data as well as learning how multi-nationals have coped with the threat.

Training will be delivered by some of the UK’s most prestigious companies such as the National Grid, BAE, British Telecom, InfoSec Skills. DMU’s acclaimed Cyber Security Centre and the Software Technology Research Laboratory will also put teams through their paces.

The unique programme, which is run by Cyber Security Challenge UK, will provide core skills needed to combat many of the existing security risks facing business today.

“The Development Camp will give delegates the chance to see what it’s really like to work as a professional in this sector and what’s involved in defending the UK from ever-growing cyber-attacks,” says Stephanie Daman, CEO, Cyber Security Challenge UK.

“Talented individuals get to learn from the best in the industry and by receiving a qualification for their efforts, they are given a genuine career-enhancing experience. This sector needs more people with talent and skills and it is very rare for the door to be opened up to outsiders – all of those involved will have had a truly unforgettable experience”.

During the camp, all delegates will take their first professional qualification, the Foundation Certificate in Information Security (FCIS) examination, free of charge, courtesy of InfoSec Skills and their examination providers the Global Certification Institute (GCI).
