Black Care 23 – Black Care Poetry Club with Headliner Lemn Sissay
Celebrate Black History Month and Care Leaders week this October with the Black Care programme brought to you by Literati Arts in partnership with The Stephen Lawrence Research Centre, De Montfort University.
Black Care amplifies and celebrates the voices and stories of Britain’s Black Care Leavers.
Black Care aims to hold space for the experiences of Black people in the care system, to raise awareness and educate those in charge and help improve the experience of Black children in the care of the local authority today.
Join us for an incredible evening of powerful spoken word and captivating poetry at the Black Care Poetry Club featuring the renowned poet and Black care leaver Lemn Sissay.
Get ready to be inspired and moved by an evening of extraordinary talent. We have an inspiring line up with performances from John Bernard, Carol Leeming MBE and Ty'rone Haughton.
Come along and celebrate Black History Month with a transformative evening of poetry from these captivating performers. Black Care holds a light up to these silent Black Histories and untold stories.
