Description

Michael Adeniya is an award-winning B2B events strategist. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of UK Black Business Week, the largest event in the UK and Europe for Black entrepreneurs, career professionals and allies to the Black community.

In 2020, he founded the first diversity and inclusion working group for the events industry converging organisers, venues and event suppliers to drive change within their organisations. He is also a founding member of ABEP, the Association of Black Event Professionals.

Michael’s mantra is to invest in people. This has guided him into numerous leadership roles. He is one of the most prominent voices for inclusive leadership and unlocking the power of diversity in the events sector. He has championed equitable pay, mental health support, shared parental leave, opportunities for those with disabilities and other initiatives all with the belief of driving better outcomes.

For the talk, Michael will be talking about his own journey to the boardroom, as well as the origins, growth and future of the UK Black Business Week. He’ll also be sharing key learnings from the top companies and speakers who attended this year’s show, including Lenny Henry, Trevor McDonald, Kanya King, June Sarpong and a number of corporate leaders.

This event is open to all. Bookings will close 1 hour prior to the start of the event, and registrants will receive a link to join the online event 24hrs before the event, via their provided email address.
