As part of this year's Black History Month programme:
Celebrating the successes of Black entrepreneurs in the UK as an inspiration for students, this event will look at the journey of several Black DMU alumni entrepreneurs and the impact they have had on society.
Join us for a panel discussion with DMU alumni, Felix Ochefu, Daniel Nyirenda, and Shafiq Mohamed, and University of Portsmouth alum, Kennedy Assoumou, all of whom are Co-Founders of IdeasLab Global.
IdeasLab Global is company on a mission to democratise access to entrepreneurship for 1 million university students globally, owning and operating the IdeasLab Network - an inclusive community of 100+ student founders around the world.
As students themselves once, these four individuals recognised a gap of knowledge sharing and collaboration in the world of the entrepreneur and decided to take matters into their own hands. Even as students, they became the go-to people for business students to bounce ideas off and get guidance with what they were working on.
Flash-forward to a life-changing academic trip to Silicon Valley and graduating from DMU, Felix, Daniel, and Shafiq have worked hard to turn their experiences of helping students into a fully-fledged business – IdeasLab Global. With Kennedy as a recent recruit, IdeasLab Global is now paying forward its experience and vision of helping students to achieve their dreams.
Be sure to tune in on Friday 22 October where we will be discussing their journey at university, what inspired them to start a business, why they think BAME representation in business is important, and what advice they would give to young and aspiring entrepreneurs today.
