On Friday 1 February, we are officially launching the De Montfort University ‘DMU Art Network’.
The launch will take place from 6pm–7.30pm at ‘The Gallery’, Mill Lane, De Montfort University, Leicester, LE1 9BH.
As you may know, a key issue within the art world is that once students graduate it is difficult to find the time or resources to develop their skills and become a full-time artist. With help from local galleries, DMU staff and artists both locally and nationally, we want to use our ‘DMU Art Network’ to provide support and resources to recently graduated artists so they are able to commit to a career in the art industry.
There will be local artists, curators and buyers at the launch as well as award-winning curators and artists attending from London. This evening will be a fantastic chance to meet fellow art enthusiasts, as well as DMU staff and find out our plans for the ‘DMU Art Network’.
Not only this, but we are currently showcasing the ‘Surface Tensions’ exhibition by Brendan Neiland in ‘The Gallery’. There will be the opportunity to purchase artwork and he will be at the launch so there will be the chance to meet him and discuss his work in further detail.
