Dr Abolfazl Zahedi awarded his PhD (2013) in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University. Following the completion of his PhD, Abolfazl received a Marie Curie research fellow, which provided funding for a year to extend his collaboration with Mechanics of Advanced Material research group in Loughborough University. After finishing his fellowship, he joint to Advance Forming Research Centre (AFRC) in University of Strathclyde as a research associate. He ran industrial projects for Aerospace in metal forming and advanced manufacturing disciplines. Abolfazl started his position (2015) as a research fellow in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE) in the University of Manchester. Since 2016 Abolfazl has appointed a Senior Lecturer at De Montfort University. His main research interests are computational material modelling, additive manufacturing, biomechanics, and tissue engineering. Furthermore, He is interested to use applied mathematics to solve engineering problems. In particular, analytical methods to facilitate design and the associated issues for vibrations.

I explore basic research into the science and engineering underlying medical device development which affects the nature and flow of new technology. I carry out both numerical and experimental investigations in order to enhance the quality of medical equipment and reduce patient recovery time.
My research interests are tissue engineering, computational biomechanics, additive manufacturing technology and applied mechanics to solve engineering design problems
I am currently a MSc final-year project coordinator in the school of engineering, deputy program leader of MSc mechatronic, and module leaders of mechanical vibration and advanced dynamic and control.
