Personal profile

I am part of the ERC funded Project JUSTICE team at DMU which, in collaboration with our colleagues in Ireland and the Netherlands, is working to understand, and develop tools to address, the continued use of coercive and abusive practices in investigative interviewing. My PhD, completed at DMU, investigated social inclusion in sense-making about serious and organised crime. I have been at DMU since 2018; as a tutor and module leader on the Chartered Managers Degree Apprenticeship, as an honorary research fellow on the EMPAC serious and organised crime project, and as a support supervisor to degree apprentices during the covid 19 period. Prior to starting my full time PhD I had a 34 year military career, full time and reserve service, including extensive leadership and management experience.
