Personal profile

 

Dr Katarzyna Jaskowiec is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA, 2021). Her teaching focuses on making complex quantitative and financial concepts accessible through applied, experiential, and inclusive learning design. She is recognised for innovative approaches such as gamified learning, real-world data use, and the integration of artificial intelligence into finance education.

Katarzyna has led curriculum design and quality assurance across international programmes, including transnational provision in Singapore and China. Her work spans module and programme design, assessment moderation, staff development, and student transition support, with a strong emphasis on maintaining academic standards across diverse learning contexts.

She has received the Faculty Award for Innovation in Teaching (2025) for an Escape Room–based learning model and leads initiatives that enhance employability and equity, including an AI Challenge and industry-recognised Excel certification. Her pedagogical practice is informed by ongoing professional development and shared through international collaborations, training, and her education blog Discounted Learning.
