Title
Enterprise Survival and Growth: Categorisation, Structures, and Policy Development in Nigeria.
Abstract
The informal economy and the conditions that might have created and perpetuated its existence has been extensively investigated. However, there is a dearth of research exploring the institutionalisation of the informal economy enterprises as a catalyst for growth and development, particularly enterprises in developing countries, and the implications for institutional structures, systems and policy formulation for entrepreneurial activities in developing countries. This research seeks to contribute to this research gap by specifically investigating the role of categorisation, structures, and policy development for the institutionalisation of the informal economy enterprises, with a view to contribute to the survival and growth of entrepreneurial activities and by extension the achievement of the UN Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs); 1 - poverty eradication, 4 - decent work and economic growth, and 17 - partnership in developing countries.
