Published today, the guide places DMU in 61st position and shows the university continue to build on last year’s success when it rose a dramatic 20 places.

Last month it was announced that DMU had maintained its highest ever ranking in the Complete University Guide, holding on to 54th position following a previous leap of 17 places.

Individual courses scored highly in the tables. DMU’s Arts and Festivals Management course was ranked fourth best in the UK, while Journalism, Fashion and Textiles and Mechanical Engineering were all in the top 20 in their individual subject tables.

Fashion and Textiles also had the highest rating for career prospects out of all fashion courses offered in the UK.

Today’s announcement comes on the back of some major successes for DMU already this year which include:

  • Entering the world university rankings for the first time after it was named in the Times Higher Education (THE)’s 150 Under 50 – a list of the best “young” universities on the planet.
  • Being named the sixth fastest-growing university in the UK after figures from UCAS showed that more students than ever were choosing to study.
  • Signing a new partnership deal with Premier League champions LCFC to offer students work placements at the King Power stadium and become the Foxes’ "Official Higher Education Partner"
  • Moving 17 places up the annual Stonewall rankings of the best place to work and study for LBGT students and staff

DMU has a growing reputation for its continued focus on improving graduate’s employability while providing students with the best possible university experience.

Links with top brands such as Rolls-Royce, IBM and Gap have seen students given incredible placement opportunities while Graduate Champions provides recent graduates with paid internships with leading UK businesses to boost their CVs.

DMU’s innovative #DMUglobal programme – which provides students with international experiences on campus and overseas - has also been hailed by business bosses as crucial in developing graduates with a global outlook.

#DMUglobal was praised by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) at the GREAT Festival of Creativity, the UK Government’s showcase of the best of British innovation.
