Students set to celebrate their big day at new Graduation Village

Students can enjoy even more of a party atmosphere for graduations with festival-style food stalls, live music and pop-up shops in a specially-created Graduation Village at DMU.

Starting on Saturday thousands of DMU students will celebrate the end of years of hard work when they collect their degrees.

It will be the biggest-ever graduations event held on campus following the £5million refurbishment of The Venue@DMU. Graduations were first held there in January, when the week included the historic investiture of Chancellor Baroness Doreen Lawrence.

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) has teamed up with events company Holland Alexander to transform the space surrounding The Venue@DMU.

A giant marquee will host special receptions for graduating students, their families and guests, with drinks. There will be a bar, live music, and seating so visitors can watch a live stream of the ceremony.
