On Tuesday, student media organisation Demon Media is launching its biggest fundraiser yet, called Demons In Space.

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) Students’ Union will be decorating the Campus Centre on a space theme. Ten pairs of Demon Media members will be locked in for a 48-live broadcast as part of DSU’s Raise and Give Week.

Every two hours they will be given different tasks to complete and the winners get rewards – while the losers could find themselves evicted!

Cash raised will go towards Macmillan Cancer Relief and Leicestershire charity Focus Youth Charity.

Demon Media includes community radio station Demon FM, Demon TV, a dedicated YouTube channel, monthly magazine The Demon and The Demon online.

Demon Media’s Head of Live Events Paul Blackmore said: "We have put on an endurance live stream for charity like this for the past two years, and it’s always the highlight. The fact that we raise so much for good causes makes it even better!"

De Montfort Students' Union’s Vice President of Media and Communications Adam Redfern said: "When it comes to charity events, Demon Media like to make an impact and this year is no different.

"Following the success of events in the past, such as #GetMeOnAir and Demon Island, the team aim to be bigger and better than ever before.

"I would urge everyone to get behind the project, get involved and support our chosen charities."
