She said: “I applied on the deadline day – the last possible day – and I thought I would not win. I remember the day I got the call from DMU, I was sleeping and my phone went, and I didn’t recognise the number.“I answered and the woman on the other end said: ‘congratulations, you have won!”’ I could not believe it. I thought I was dreaming and she had to repeat it twice before I realised it was true.”Linh – full name Nguyen Thuy Linh - is studying an International Business Masters in Corporate Social Responsibility, the sector in which she works in Hanoi.
She said she has found Leicester a very welcoming city and has been enjoying visiting museums and the countryside on days out with new friends. She said: “My background is working for NGOs and I am interested in corporate social responsibility. The UK is very well known for its work in CSR and I want to get some experience of working in the UK so I can apply my knowledge when I finish my course.”
