Graduations were a double celebration for outstanding law students

Graduations were a double celebration for Leicester De Montfort Law School’s outstanding students.
Not only did they collect their hard-earned degrees but they were invited back to campus to collect extra awards from their lecturers in recognition of their excellent performance during their time at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU).

Professor Gavin Dingwall, Professor of Criminal Justice and Tim Hillier, Associate Head of School, were there to hand out the prizes to the graduates in front of their proud family and friends.

Professor Dingwall told students: “These awards are in recognition of work of outstanding quality – you should all be very proud.”

Practising solicitor Karen Lawson, who had earlier received her Master of Laws in Employment Law and Practice, was awarded two prizes. Karen, who works for Ringrose Law said: “Doing this by distance learning gave me a depth of knowledge which you do not gain in practice. It taught me the context in which current employment law policy is created and I believe adds to my skill set.”
