Free tickets to Premier League games and priceless work experience will be on offer to students as De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) signs a new partnership deal with Leicester City FC.

The exclusive deal will also mean DMU staff and students can take advantage of stadium tours and discounted parking on open days, while university teams will benefit from the expertise of LCFC top coaches and Q&A sessions.
Not only that, but the university’s student team trials in September will be played in the company of a Leicester City legend who will be on hand to share tips and skills.
The deal was signed by DMU Vice-Chancellor Dominic Shellard and Leicester City Chief Executive Susan Whelan.
The partnership will mean up to 100 students from DMU will be able to enrol on employability placements across all areas of Leicester City’s operations; gaining valuable experience in marketing, catering, hospitality, training and more.

A total of 30 free tickets will be available for staff and students at each LCFC home league game. Two further ‘DMU Takeover’ games, to be decided, will have 100 free tickets available. DMU staff and students will also be first in line for any cup ties with Premier League opponents.
In addition, the university will provide LCFC’s overseas players with English language courses, media training for players and staff at the club and use of DMU’s Retail lab, which aims to help firms grow.
The university will also be invited to business networking events held at the stadium throughout the year and to take advantage of discounted parking on DMU open days.

“The opportunities this partnership offers are really exciting, with immediate benefit to our students who will gain outstanding experience in so many aspects involved in running a top-flight football club. They can also take advantage of the skills and advice of the club’s coaches and, together with staff, will be getting behind the club, cheering them on in another Premier League season.”
