We have a fantastic opportunity for students who are looking to explore the world of Forensic Science at university.
We are offering YR12 students an introduction to studying Forensic Science at university, including course content, teaching methods, opportunities and career pathways.
They will receive a hands-on analysis of a mock crime scene using printed materials, covering:
-
- Presumptive testing for blood and saliva and links to DNA analysis
- Introduction to drug analysis (chemistry techniques)
- Fingerprint development and comparison
The session lasts approximately two hours and can be delivered in the morning or afternoon. Wraparound activities such as a campus tour, lunch break and student ambassador Q&A can also be included.
This event is designed for Year 12 students. (students will typically need a Level 3 science subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Applied Science) to study Forensic Science at DMU.)
