Rugby at DMU offers a complete pathway for both men and women, covering everything from non-contact social touch/tag rugby to full-contact 15-a-side competitive university league fixtures.

DMUactive - Free, fun, recreational sport

  • Free for all students with all equipment provided.

  • 100% non-contact delivery focused on fun, fitness, and handling skills.

  • Features in our DMUactive Mystery Sessions, which offer a chance to try a sport that isn't usually part of DMUactive. These sessions get released 1 week in advance on the DMU leisure app.

DMUcampus - Internal competitions & tournaments

  • Social touch and tag rugby campus tournaments and Summer Series events.

  • Fast, non-contact mixed gender formats to sign up individually or play with friends, halls, or societies.

DMUteam - Train, compete & represent the university

  • Weekly training led by qualified coaches with opportunities to compete and represent DMU in BUCS leagues.

  • No experience necessary - squads develop beginners through to experienced players.

  • Includes access to specialised Strength & Conditioning (S&C) support and match transport.
