Intercampus Mobility – DMU Dubai to DMU Leicester

Interested in going to Leicester? Students starting De Montfort University (DMU) Dubai in September 2025 will have the opportunity to study in Leicester during their second year. As part of the university’s intercampus mobility programme, you could spend 14 weeks (two blocks of the course) at our Leicester campus. This is a fantastic opportunity to benefit from studying abroad without interrupting your course and with full support from both our Dubai and Leicester campuses.

DMU Leicester

Leicester also benefits from excellent transport connections, making it easy to explore the UK during your stay. Students can travel directly to London in around 1 hour by train, with services running every 20 minutes from Leicester to London St Pancras International. These fast rail links also connect Leicester to nearby cities across the Midlands and beyond, offering convenient options for day trips, cultural experiences and wider travel around the UK.

 

Eligibility criteria

For the academic year 2026-27, second year students on one of the following programmes can choose to study Blocks 3 and 4 (8 February – 18 June 2027) in Leicester:

  • BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance
  • BA (Hons) Advertising and Marketing Communications
  • BA (Hons) Business Management
  • LLB (Hons) Law
     
  • Application outcomes are subject to students successfully completing Year 1 (and passing all modules) and progressing to Year 2 of their undergraduate study.
  • You must also provisionally pass blocks 1, 2 and 3 in Year 2. Please note, marks will not be formally approved at this stage.
  • You must have a clear financial record having made all due tuition fee payments in full, and with no outstanding financial debt to the university.
  • Direct entrants, part-time students and January intake students at Level 5 are not eligible to participate.
  • Selection of participants will be made in consultation with the programme leader.

You will be notified when the applications are open via the programme team in your faculty and information will also be available on Learning Zone. In the meantime, you can submit an expression of interest.

Limited places are available, and these will be allocated based on the quality of applications received, academic performance, and attendance record.

Fees and funding

Students will be required to pay the full local tuition fee for the academic year. No tuition fees will be paid to DMU Leicester.

Students will be responsible for paying for accommodation, travel, visa, insurance, personal expenses and living costs as part of the intercampus mobility to DMU Leicester.

Visa support

The easiest way to confirm whether you need a visa for your stay in the UK is by visiting the UK government website.

For the intercampus mobility programme (coming to Leicester for less than six months) you may need a Standard Visitor visa. Guidance on this and submitting financial documents can be found on DMU’s website.

Depending on your nationality, you may not need a visa. In this case:

  • You may need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to visit for up to six months, or
  • You may be able to visit the UK for up to six months without a visa or ETA.

Further information and support will be provided to you once you have been accepted onto the programme.

Accommodation

En-suite rooms will be available in Castle Court halls of residence from 30January 2026 – Friday 17 July 2026 (standard contract end date).

  • Classic en-suite £145 per week, total cost £3,480
  • Premium en-suite £155 per week, total cost £3,720

Prices for 2027 will be available in due course.

All our halls are self-catered and fully furnished, offering shared kitchens, laundry facilities and internet access. With on-site or on-call security, halls also have on-site managers, CCTV and secure entry.

Student support

You will receive dedicated support from pre-application through to your return to the UK through your Programme Leader, Student Advice Centre and the Global Partnerships Unit based in Leicester. DMU Leicester will provide support for practical preparation such as visas and immigration, healthcare requirements and accommodation. Upon arrival, you will have an orientation session to familiarise yourself with the campus and life in Leicester. You will also continue to receive support from DMU Dubai via your programme leader.
