How to Make a Clearing Call | Tips and What to Expect | De Montfort University
How to call universities for Clearing?
Simply call us on +44 (0)116 257 7000 or get your offer via WhatsApp on +44 07970 655 800.
Who will I speak to?
You will speak with one of our friendly advisers. They can be either a staff member or one of our current students.
What information will I need when I call?
Don’t worry if you haven’t got your UCAS ID yet, you can still get an offer without one. However, you’ll need a UCAS account to finalise your application. You also don’t need to know all your results to get a verbal offer, and it’s a good idea to secure your place before the course fills up. Just remember, your offer will be conditional on meeting the Clearing entry criteria.
Keep a pen and paper nearby so you can jot down anything important - like the deadline to accept your offer. And if you think of something after the call, no problem. You can always drop us a quick message on WhatsApp.
What to do after a Clearing call?
During your call, you will be sent a copy of your verbal offer by email. This will outline your next steps, and it’s best to wait until you receive it before making any changes to your UCAS account.
If you don’t already have a UCAS account, you’ll need to create one at this stage to complete the process. If you’re currently holding another offer, you’ll need to self-release before you can accept your Clearing offer.
Make sure to note the deadline for accepting your Clearing offer so you don’t miss out.
Once your offer becomes unconditional, you can start preparing for university and booking your accommodation. All first-year undergraduate students at DMU are guaranteed accommodation, so you won’t need to worry about finding somewhere to live.
