3. 1,850 work placements and more than 170 accredited courses
DMU currently has more than 170 courses accredited by professional, statutory and regulatory bodies that have been designed with employability in mind. Every year 1,850 placements are taken up by students and, together with continual input from leading employers, ensure DMU graduates are ready for the workplace upon graduation.

DMU is truly an international university with students of 150 nationalities on campus and links with 155 partners worldwide. 7. Investment in infrastructure
DMU has recently spent £260 million on campus infrastructure and student accommodation plus a further £8 million on the state-of-the-art Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee leisure centre.
We are currently undertaking a £136 million campus transformation which includes spending £58 million on rebuilding the landmark Fletcher complex, £22.2 million on IT infrastructure and an £845k revamp to Bede Island – home of DMU’s world-leading Game Art Design course.
£670k has already been spent fitting out classrooms with the latest industry-standard equipment and a further £175k of improvements are planned this year.
8. Innovative teaching
A supportive learning environment and innovative teaching awaits students at DMU. To date DMU has received 18 National Teaching Fellow awards, which places us third highest nationally, and currently have 11 tutors with NTF awards as recognition for their innovative and transformational teaching.
