Fees and scholarships
A number of scholarships and early payment discounts are available to help international students study at De Montfort University (DMU).
Information about fees, scholarships and discounts is provided below to help you to organise your finances.
This £1,000 scholarship is based on academic merit and supports our overseas students with the cost of studying in the UK. It is deducted from the full tuition fees of overseas-status students. Once you have applied and been accepted onto a course at DMU, and if you achieve the required grades, you will automatically be awarded the scholarship.
The Academic Elite Scholarship of DMU & UKEAS 2012/13 is delighted to offer £2,000 scholarships to Chinese students for all DMU programmes, including both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Restrictions apply.
This scholarship helps academically outstanding students from developing Commonwealth countries to experience a postgraduate British education that would otherwise be impossible due to financial restrictions. Only one scholarship is available and will be based on academic merit. Restrictions apply.
Daiwa Foundation Tohoku scholarships
In partnership with the British Council Japan, the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is offering £250,000 worth of scholarships to Japanese students who want to study in the UK but have been affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The deadline for applications for the Daiwa Foundation Tohoku scholarships is 15 June 2012.

Faculty scholarships
DMU faculties may also offers scholarships, awards and prizes to students. Speak to staff in your faculty for more information.
All students are required to make a payment of £3000 towards course fees when accepting an unconditional offer from DMU. The university offers international students an opportunity to receive 2 discounts when paying these course fees.
An early Pre-Payment Discount| of £500 is available for students who pay the initial £3000 before 31st May 2012.
Students who chose to pay their full course fees within the first four weeks of the start of their programme, and are an overseas student enrolling with the university for the first time, could then also be entitled to a Fulll Payment Discount| of £500 (some course exclusions apply).
