Facilities and membership
DMU is dedicated to providing exceptional sporting facilities to enhance the student experience. Over the last few years, the university has invested millions of pounds into state-of-the-art facilities for its students. These include: the £8million Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre, the £1million Watershed Facility - home of DMU Rowing - and a huge £2million on developing FA standard grass and artificial pitches at Beaumont Park, for the men’s and women’s football teams.

The Watershed Facility
The Watershed Facility is home to the DMUsport department and also the DMU Rowing Club. Situated on Liberty Island, just off campus, the university has invested in the facility to offer additional space for DMU’s student activities including sports club and societies.
With classroom spaces and a multi-purpose sports hall, the spaces meet students’ needs and also provided an ideal venue for events.
The facility also hosts Intra-Mural and DMUactive recreational sports opportunities.
Beaumont Park is situated on the outskirts of Leicester and has recently seen £2.5million of investment.
Home to the DMU Men’s and Women’s Football sides, the venue boasts FA standard grass and artificial pitches as well as a recently refurbished clubhouse.
Students wanting to participate in sporting opportunities will need to pay £40 which can be paid on the De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) website.
£30 of this cost goes towards travel to training and fixtures, equipment and kit costs as well as insurance. The further £10 will be invested directly into the club you are participating in to help the club run effectively.
