Whether you're looking for a part-time job for a couple of hours a week, or something full-time for a short period, we can help. Jobs are available both inside the university and in the local area.
It doesn't matter if you're looking for admin, events, catering or retail, there's sure to be something there for you. We also place DMU's student ambassadors.

Meet the team
Andy Mott – Branch Manager
Andy joined the university as the Branch Manager for Unitemps. He also runs a similar operation at the University of Leicester. He has worked in temporary and permanent recruitment within the private sector for 14 years following 13 years’ service in the Royal Air Force. Andy is a keen sportsman (retired!) and an avid F1 and rugby union follower.
Charlotte Borrows – Internal Recruitment Consultant
Charlotte previously worked for Unitemps at the Head Office within the University of Warwick. Charlotte’s role as a Recruitment Consultant at Warwick was to source support workers for clients with acquired brain injuries, placing students there that had an interest in the social care sector. In addition, she also worked at the Birmingham Unitemps branch recruiting internally for BCU. Charlotte’s hobbies include travelling, shopping and reading.
Lynne Parker – External Sales Associate
Lynne joined the university as the External Sales Associate for Unitemps focusing maximising the number of opportunities for students and graduates to find work locally within the business community. She has worked previously in both the private and public sector for 30 years in various roles including Recruitment, Learning and Development and Human Resources. Lynne’s hobbies include watching and playing tennis and watching Leicester Tigers.
Leanne Easom – Recruitment Resourcer
Leanne is a DMU graduate in Psychology with Education and has previously worked as a Trade Sales Advisor for a Designer Furniture Company and as a Branch Administrator for a High Street Recruitment Agency. Leanne joined the University in November 2015 as a Recruitment Resourcer and works closely with the branches External Sales Associate. She has a keen interest in cooking, fitness, animals and travelling.
Frequently asked questions
How do I register?
Complete the online form. Don’t forget to upload your CV in the ‘My Details’ section once you’ve registered otherwise we won’t be able to shortlist you for any jobs that you apply for.
I’ve registered; what now?
Once you’ve registered and uploaded your CV, you’re free to browse the jobs board and apply for jobs.
Do I need to pop into the office?
Yes, but only once you’ve been booked onto a job as you’ll need to bring in either a passport or full birth certificate for ID purposes and your bank details to fill out a payroll form.
What are your opening hours?
The Unitemps office on campus is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
How do I search for jobs?
Use the search box located on the right of the Unitemps homepage. Remember to select ‘De Montfort University’ in the ‘Branch’ drop-down menu to filter your search results.
Are the jobs on-campus (internal) or off-campus (external)?
Currently the roles are mainly on-campus but eventually external job opportunities will be available.
Will I be working days, evenings or weekends?
There are a range of jobs advertised, all with a varying number of hours that cover days, evenings and weekends.
I want to work during the vacation period but I will not be in Leicester; what do I do?
You can search for job opportunities located near to where you’ll be spending your vacation period by using the search function on the Unitemps website. It doesn’t matter that you’re studying at DMU because Unitemps uses a shared database of candidates to fill job opportunities.
Do I need to provide references?
Once you’ve been booked onto a job you will need to provide the names and contact details of two referees. However, you can do this when you pop into the Unitemps office with your right to work and bank details before you start work.
Will I get paid?
Yes! Jobs on campus will be paid in-line with the university pay scale and jobs off campus will vary in pay depending on the recruiter.
When will I get paid?
Unitemps runs a monthly payroll on the 8th of every month. Any full weeks’ work completed and approved by your manager before that date will be paid to you on the 25th of each month. In the instance that the 25th falls on a weekend or bank holiday, you will be paid on the working day prior to that.
I’ve got a query regarding my pay – what do I do?
In the first instance, you should check your payslip as the majority of queries can be resolved when you open your payslip and are able to see the wage breakdown.

How do I claim my holiday pay?
You can claim your holiday monthly by visiting the Unitemps website, logging on, clicking ‘My Details’ and then ‘Holiday Pay’. Please ensure that you request your holiday before the 8th of the month so that it can be paid to you on the next pay date.
What do I do if I can’t make a shift?
In the event that you’re unable to make a shift, you will need to immediately call your line manager and let them know. Next you will need to call the Unitemps office on (0116) 207 8351 and speak to a member of staff.
When do I have to fill out my timesheets by?
Timesheets need to be completed by the end of every week (Sunday).
What happens once I’ve filled out a timesheet?
Once you’ve completed your timesheet, you will receive an automated email stating the hours that you worked. Your line manager will also get an email notifying them that you’ve completed your timesheet and that it’s waiting their approval. Once your timesheet has been approved by your line manager, you will both receive a final email confirming that your timesheet has been approved.
What do I do if I’ve forgotten my login details for the website?
